HomeThe Lifekeeper Memory QuiltTeresa Matonia

Teresa Matonia

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to sing, to play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found my peace…
At the end of the day.
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss
Be not burdened…deep with sorrow
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow
My life’s been full, I’ve savoured much
Good friends, good times
a loved one’s touch
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart and share with me
For now my friends, I am truly free

Forever in our hearts

Teresa

My heart cries every day for Teresa.
Teresa was my very best friend in the entire world.
We shared our hopes, our dreams, our tears and our lives.
We had heaps and heaps of fun and laughs.

Anthony, Madie and Lucy thought of Teresa as a second mum and she treated them with love as every mother does. I’ll never forget the day she told me Lucy was flouncing around (her words) and it gets to me still as Lucy has not stopped flouncing around.

We shared so much and now Teresa is gone. I miss her so much.

Mike tells me she is just in another place and not here. He believes that Teresa is with him and is caring for him as he travels over isolated roads and bush tracks in the harshest and remotest country of Australia. She is his guardian angel and is keeping him safe.
If I had to say one thing that I really loved about Teresa was that she was non judgmental. She often told me that looks didn’t matter it was what was on the inside that was most important.
Conversations with Teresa were frequent and it was a free for all bragging time. We were able to tell each other how fantastic our kids were. We were proud mums sharing our innermost thoughts about our families. Teresa cared and had time and often made time to sit and appreciate what she had and what her family had achieved.

Loved by everyone
Soaring above us all
Wish you could give us a call, lend me your ears, cast your eye over my work
I know you’re watching
I know you’re listening
I know you’re happy with what you’re seeing
I know how hard life can be
I know sometimes it can get too hard
I know you are always with us
