Michael Vincent Carroll

Michael was the fourth of six kids. He was the youngest of the three boys, but he grew to be the tallest, strongest and arguably the loudest member of the family. From a young age he always looked out for his siblings and wanted to do whatever the older kids did, no matter the physical challenges and consequences.
He was a good communicator, smart, funny, a great sports player and great sportsman, had lots of friends, was good to his family, was very successful, and was always willing to listen to his family and friends and pass on his advice about relationships, life, religion, love, and any topic that could result in lively discussion.
Michael was a terrific kid who grew into a fine man of whom his family were and are very proud. He was a much loved and appreciative son, a tremendous brother for his siblings and a fantastic uncle for his nephews and nieces.
Michael had a big heart and was very generous with his time and attitude to those around him. He really was a friend to all.
He was a larger than life character at the Tuggeranong Football club as well as the Wimbledon Hawks Football Club. He was one of the toughest competitors on the field and provided many memorable moments.
He was an inspiration to all his friends in his professional life. He came such a long way in a short period of time.
By nature Michael was an entertainer. The Michael that we knew and loved did not know the meaning of depression. That is the Michael we will remember.
Champ, we miss you so much and will love and remember you always.
The following poems about Michael and written by loved ones after his death help describe the full life that he led.
I’m Still Dancing by Casey McCormack
Although my life was only short,
It was filled with the joy and adventures I sought.
I’ve traveled the world, made so many friends
Those of whom I’ll be with till the end.
I hope I’ve given you all something in life,
Whether it be a dance move or bit of advice.
Please remember the good times we shared,
The beers, the laughter and the hugs with the bear.
I’m so sorry my passing has caused you grief,
But it was the only way I could find relief.
I struggled every day to get through the pain
There are no words that could fully explain.
Rest assured my spirit will never die,
I’m now at peace so please don’t cry.
I’m happy up here – I’m finally at rest,
I’m putting the angels dance moves to the test J
In memory of a brother who always inspired me to be a better person,
by Marian Carroll.
Over so soon
A young life taken
Not our Michael
You MUST be mistaken
Our tower of strength
The one we all looked up to
Your energy and passion for life
Inspired all who knew you
With a positive outlook
Sharp intellect and humour
You seized every adventure
Rose to every challenge, every test
Your dynamic presence lit up every room
May you find peace where you now rest
