Julian Wormald

Julian once said that his ambition was to become an expert in something, and to have people one day come to him for advice and help.

In his short life he worked hard to that end and was becoming very knowledgeable in his professional field of computer networking, setting up networks for big companies and troubleshooting problems.

He even learned how to lay cable himself if necessary. He passed every additional exam he took in his field, with flying colours. He was well on the way to becoming expert.

Sadly, he gave himself no credit for his achievements. But every time I use this lap-top, which he recommended and set up for me, I think of my beloved and loving son.

One day I will be able to take joy in the years that he had, not the ones he missed. And I am soothed and reassured that he shares a space on the Memory Quilt with all those others whose own stories mean so much to their loving families and friends.
