Debbie McDermott

Debbie McDermott (nee Wood)
11/10/1966 – 22/02/2008
(41 years)
My sister, Debbie, had the greatest love for all her family and friends.
Debbie was a loving wife and a loving and caring mum to her two children, Charlie and Kasey. Debbie was so proud of both of them and laughed so much at the funny things they said and did.
Debbie was a loving and beautiful daughter to our mother and our late father and a loving and beautiful sister to our brother Darren and I.
Debbie was very close to mum and phoned her every day, often more than once, to check that she was okay. We laughed about when we were little. Dad would put his hands in the freezer in the mornings to make them really cold and wake us up by touching our cheeks.
Debbie was a wonderful aunty and loved all her nieces and nephew. She came with me to my daughter Angela’s School Assembly and when Angela read out her school captain speech, Debbie stood up while everyone else stayed seated, she cheered and clapped so loudly while everyone else was quiet – that was Debbie!
Debbie was also a wonderful friend. She was so bubbly and happy to be around. She made so many wonderful friendships throughout her life.
It is often so hard to understand why Debbie is no longer with us anymore. Her depression, her sadness, must have been so overwhelming. Debbie would never have meant for us to feel so sad but I miss her so much and often I feel so sad.
And I pray that all our family and friends will remember the happy times when we remember my sister Debbie.
